This is a simple and fun way for toddlers to explore and learn different colors. It is also a great fine motor skills activity since it require your child to squeeze out liquid.
For this activity you’ll need:
- Small container or bowl
- Food coloring
- plain uncooked rice
First she poured in drops of yellow and we named what color it was.
She then put in each color, once again naming all the different colors. She already knows her colors and so she named them by herself as she put the colors in.
We then “hypothesized” what was going to happen when she stirred all the colors together. She thought it would turn black.
She had fun mixing the colors and then adding new colors. Afterwards we used the colored rice for a mini sensory bin.
Super simple way to explore with colors!
