September ushers in fall which means cooler weather, pumpkin everything, and of course, apples! We used this kool-aid play dough recipe to make red and green play dough to make play dough apples! This is also a great fine motor skills activity!
What you’ll need:
- pipe cleaner or another item to act as stems (we used wax strips)
After you have your play dough, let your child make apples with and insert the stems. It is that easy!
She had fun pretending to “eat” her apple.
She then wanted to pretend like I was Snow White and she was the Evil Queen trying to get her to eat the poisonous apple. This is a great example of how they can use play dough in pretend play.
We then brought out some other tools to extend the play.
Happy fall playing!
