Once There was a Snowman is my daughter favorite song to sing and act out right now. I thought is would be fun to use our DIY Flannel Board and make some fun snowmen to act out the song.
I am joining with several other bloggers to bring you a winter blog hop. At the end of this post you will browse dozens of bloggers for fun winter crafts and activities!
For this activity you’ll need:
- Flannel Board
- 2 Squares of White Felt (I used sparkly kind)
- Black felt
- Orange felt
First cut out 3 “snowballs” on each piece of white felt.
Then use the black felt to cut out your hat, arms, and scarf
Lastly make a carrot nose from the orange felt
Then we sang the song which goes like this:
Once there was a snowman, snowman, snowman,
Once there was a snowman,
Tall, tall, tall!
In the sun he melted, melted, melted,
In the sun he melted,
small, small, small!
We then used our felt snowman to act out the song. We added snowballs during the “tall, tall, tall” part.
Then we removed one snowball at a time during the “small, small, small” part.
She had a blast acting out this song. We then just built snowmen with the felt.
