We started a new tradition this Christmas; Decorating gingerbread houses. Decorating a gingerbread house with a toddler is a little bit different experience than I remember. Something I have learned since becoming a parent is to just go along for the ride and don’t take anything too seriously. In this case, I let go of wanting a beautiful and picturesque gingerbread house and instead let my daughter enjoy herself by decorating it how she wanted. After all, that is what is all is really about right?
We got together as a family; Mommy, Daddy, and Isabella. We let her help us put on the frosting and then let her go to town with sticking the candy on the house.
I was so surprised she did not try to eat any of it!
We turned on some Christmas tunes and had a blast decorating as a family.
Even though at the end it looked a little like it belong on Pinstrosity, I loved it and thought it was a work of art because it was decorated by my little girl! My advice when doing any sort of arts or crafts with toddler is to make it more about the experience and the bonding and less about what the final product looks like.

Thank you so much!
It looks like she had so much fun. We tried this with my 2 year old but he just thought it was a race to see how much candy he could eat before mom was done decorating!

Thanks for stopping by!
I think that turned out super cute! I need to do this with my kids and make it a tradition as well. I know my kids would eat as they decorate though lol.
