Christmas Craft For Kids- Cotton Ball Santa

Christmas Craft for Kids Santa This is an easy and simple Christmas craft for kids, that even a young toddler will have fun making. All you need is a paper plate, cotton balls, and googly eyes and you will be ready to make your Santa Claus craft!

For this activity you will need:

  • Paper plate
  • Cotton balls
  • Googly eye
  • Glue stick
  • Construction paper for the hat
  • Marker/crayon for nose, mouth, and cheeks.

This activity:

  • Builds fine motor skills
  • Explores concepts and language such as “soft” for the cotton balls
  • Explores Christmas themes
  • Builds creativity

First we cut out Santa’s hat out of red construction paper and glued it to the top of the paper plate

I drew on a face since my daughter is still too young.

I added glue all around the plate and at the part of the hat that meets the plate and then we got to sticking on the cotton balls.

After we glued on the googly eyes.

Afterwards I used the Santa and we sand “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”. While I was singing and using the Santa, some of the cotton balls fell off. Isabella thought this was hilarious!! We would stick them back on and resume our song and then some would fall off again. We did this over and over…

It just goes to show you that sometimes it is the impromptu parts of art projects and activities that provide the most fun and memories!
