Pumpkin Spice Rice Crispy Treats

Pumpkin Spice Rice Crispy Treats

I love me some rice crispy treats (odd little side note, in my family they are called rice crispy “treaties”. No one knows where that started but it goes all the way back to my grandparents. So for sentimental reasons in this post they will hereby be called rice crispy “treaties”). As I was saying, I love me some rice crispy treaties, so when I saw that they had pumpkin spice marshmallows at the grocery store I was super excited! Sure enough, on the back of the bag was a recipe for pumpkin spice rice crispy treat(ies). To make them even more festive you put some candy corn on them and use a pumpkin cookie cutter to give them their shape! This is a super simple festive dessert that would be great for Halloween parties!

For this recipe you will need:

Rice crispy treats

  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 Pkg. (8 oz.) Jet Puffed Pumpkin Spice Marshmellows
  • 5 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1 cup candy corn

First line a 13 x 8 pan with foil, the foil extending up the sides. Spray with cooking spray

Then microwave your butter in a microwaveable bowl on HIGH for 45 sec or until melted (mine took closer to a minute). Then add your marshmellows and toss to coat. Microwave them for 1-1 1/2 min. or until completely melted. Stir after 45 seconds. I was hoping for a more orange color but instead it was more of a caramel color.
